In Memoriam
Ed Paschke was not only a genius artist, but also a family friend of long standing. Lorie and I were deeply saddened to learn of his passing. He will be missed.

This is fairly cool. It seems that last week a used bookstore in San Fransisco called Adobe Books agreed to let an artist named Chris Cobb rearrange all the books on the shelves by color, in rainbow-spectrum order. I guess they were put back in original order after a week. Several people have posted photos of the project in sito, posted them to Flickr, and started a pool. There’s some nice images there.
There’s also a web site from the artist about the project.

America is woven of many strands; I would recognize them and let it so remain. It’s ‘winner take nothing’ that is the great truth of our country or of any country. Life is to be lived, not controlled; and humanity is won by continuing to play in face of certain defeat. Our fate is to become one, and yet many — This is not prophecy, but description.
