Valentimes

Alas, I am still adrift in the world without a hinternet connexion!
But I am finding it an interesting challenge to locate publicly accessible, slightly exotic blogging places about the globe, for example, Madison, Wisconsin, home of the Badgers and so many aging hippies, some with truly disgusting facial hair. Yuck! I'm sorry but today I saw at least 3 men on the street who none of them could have shaved since 1967. I'm so serious and they were not even Muslims. It isn't right. That's all I'm saying about that, no offense to anyone with normal beards, (like not the kind that are slightly yellow-I'm SERIOUS!!) like Henry, who I hadn't seen since September. And he has an excuse, cause Kathryn dumped him. Poor Henry.
My sock knitting is still coming along nicely, the first adult daffodils are finished and Kathryn said today they looked "professional". I was pleased to hear that as I was thinking they were a little bit odd and stretchy. Plus one is ever so slightly longer than the other, as I lost count of rows, as I am wont to do, because who can be bothered to count rows when (OMG serious facial tattoo, man these Madison types are so hardcore) one's coffee is growing cold and there is this really cute boy at Taste of Heaven who has this very scragggly hair and he keeps coming by? And then who knows if he is gay or married? And if he's not gay, if he has a girlfriend, and if he does is she prettier than me? Plus Lord knows probably he is like 22 and thinks I am a hag!! Maybe I am a hag?!?
Maybe I should just get used to it?? Maybe I should get plastic surgery?? How can I afford plastic surgery??? Oh gawd I need to get a damn job!! That's the thing of it.
Sigh.
This Valentimes finds me feeling slightly unloved, at least in the romantic sense. I know, for instance, that Marcel loves me. Here is the movie of my life, showing tonight on Lifetime, The Girl Without a Valentine. Get out your Kleenexes. Honk! That's me blowing my sad, mishapen red nose. The Madison Knitter's Guild meets tonight, perhaps I shall go join these nice ladies. Maybe they will let me wear one of those flowered hay-prons. We didn't have to wear them in Chicago. Maybe our knitting was not so messy. I dunno.
I have to stop now because my time is running out on this machine. Marcel and I will be back in Chicago-go next Sunday.
Oh my gawd, and before I forget, the cheese section in the grocery store is totally out of hand. Bricks and bricks of cheddar bigger than minivans. Believe it! Its true!

bee and flower

Ok I hafta make this fast because I am in Pause, which is a nice cafe with good coffee, excellent music and a real live British telephone box. And lots of clocks all set to a different hour, which is very considerate for those of us that exist outside of time. But the clocks on the iMacs keep tick tick ticking, at $2.50 per half hour, and that is unnerving when one has so much to catch up on. Mostly I just wanted to let my dear Knit-A-Log readers (fans? yes? Please be my fans!) to know I had not forsaken them and I haven't drowned.
I just haven't got The Little iMac That Could out of jail yet, poor little guy.
Its very strange, and a lot like being cut off from humanity to be without one's hinternet connexion, and having to leave one's house (imagine!) to blog.
Anyway, I've been swept up in sock knitting, and have finished one small pair of carrot looking ones in Baby Ull (very nice and soft!) and an adult size pair is almost done, in Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock- the lovely Daffodil colorway. Also underway are Mummy's pair in Bee. Bee! What could bee more splendid!? I ask you, Knit- A -Log readers!
Oh, to live on Bee Street! Here is a bit of poetry from Shelley for your reading pleasure~
Thy sweet childe Sleep,
the filmy-eyed,
murmured like a noontide bee

Oh soon it will be summer and so I ordered the ChickCami, I'm lusting lusting for Rowan All Seasons
Cotton but I have the budget for Kitchen Cotton.
Next week I am taking my Boston Terrier and hitting the road! More news later on that later!

Swimming is my other obsession.
The pool is indoors, and usually empty of other people, except for when the Ladies Exercise Group comes on Monday afternoons, they don't throw me out but the perfume is a little off-putting.
Still my new hobby is walking on my hands on the bottom. In answer to a reader's concerns, Gentle Reader, fear not! The pool is indoors and heated! Although I have swum outdoors in April in Canada,
Canada!! Its frickin cold in Canada! With an Egghead,(read it and send him hatemail! He's used to it!) and it was not so bad, as long as only your face was sticking out. Its true.
Anyway it looks like my time was up a while ago.
Nobody said anything but I should probably not take advantage!
Please please post comments! It makes me so happy!!!
