This Thursday's class~ I've spoken.

It appears that the only thing exciting enough to motivate me to update the Knit-A-Log these days is not knitting but bike fixing. And its not that I haven't been knitting at all. But its a fact that I spent Thursday evening examining and twisting spoke nipples. Did you know your spokes had nipples? You may well have known it, I actually did, but did you ever bother to lubricate one?? Don't answer that!!
Ok, so I'm done being juvenile now, on to the serious bizness that is the Knit-A-Log~
Where to begin?
Its Instant Summer around here lately, and the smell of flowers is in the air, and the streets are full of bikers in spandex~ I've discovered the numbers of the spandex-clad riders increases exponentially to the air temperature, what is that?~ as well as those, like myself, who just put on our new spring wardrobe of a pair of jeans cut to about 6" above the ankles, for maximal temporary chain-grease tattoos, as well as style.
And did I ever finish that black Chickami from last summer (or could it even be the summer before?? I hope not!)?? And have I totally lost my place in the pattern, found that I have some really odd number of stitches on my needles compared with where I thought I might be in the pattern, and have I then decided to make up my own little quick fix, and in this way avoid frogging, because I am so incredibly lazy?
Yes, yes, and yes. Thus, I am seriously, hopelessly confused. But trudging onward with the whole mess, and trying to be optimistic.
Here is what else I did~ put knitted rat ears on my black hoodie, finally, the ones I made like in January. And dyed my hoodie blacker, as I kept meaning to do, so now it is black, black, black like my soul. Next I plan to make it a tail and if all goes well put some patches on strategically, am I regressing, fashion-wise? Probably. Here is what else is rocking my fashion world~ a pair of purple John Fluevog boots with red piping and red flowery side embroidery, and funny little curvy heels that I got at the Brown Elephant on Clark for $5. Thrift score.
Cars in the bike lane have been irking me lately, and I've become the self-proclaimed anti-authoritarian, self-appointed Bike Lane Police. I'm a girl on a mission, the Bike Lane Avenger, all I need is a cape. Thus far I've lectured two drivers. Did you know its illegal, and if the police bother, you can get a ticket for $100, and plus, you force bike riders around you into traffic? Its true! So don't do it, especially on Damen, or if you do, don't leave your window open or you will see Pippy in your face!
P.s. Did you know? The World Naked Bike Ride is June 10th.
