extra fancy!
In honor of Spring and also because my old front page was a little messed up and making me unhappy, I give you- the new front page! Which is not that different from the old front page. Still, dig the wide luxe margins, all the better for posting a certain dawg and his extra fancy fish mouth.
Speaking of which, the good news is Marcel is probably going to be just fine and is beginning to forgive me for feeding him tainted dog food. Oh, it was all very upsetting for both of us, and honestly we're still feeling a little nervous about the whole thing. Quite a scare!!!

Our intrepid vet has checked him over, a couple of times now, and will check him again, in the meantime all we can do is keep an eye on him. Think good thoughts!
But like I said, he seems to be fine, and digging the sunshine!

And we are pleased to be coming out of hibernation and into the daylight, to see

the beauty of small things.

With better biking weather has come better knitting weather- what with more places to bike to for knitting in public, as well as park-bench sitting- and a Super Secret Baby Project for an as-yet Super Secret Baby. Here's what I will say about that- Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sport is yummy. Just fyi. The sweater-curse-defying boyfriend cardigan, Avast is also grooving still along, and should be ready for next fall.
I really want to make this thing but somehow nobody in the world has Muench String of Pearls. Which I have a weird suspicion is ribbon yarn, although it doesn't look like it in the picture, and ribbon yarn gives me the howling fantods, so who knows.
Btw, ladies and gentlemen, look out because here's~

Lucy!!! Are you blinded by the cuteness?
Yep.

Everyone needs one! Plus, evidence! And- Poetry of Poodles

A toaster that matches one's bike helmet~

It can get confusing! Just make sure the one you're putting on your head is unplugged and it should be ok, though!
(Thanks to Mr. Goddamn Sunshine who knows that red stands for passion and that nothing says romance quite like the gift of toast! Its why I love him!)
Magical springtime things are beginning to take place in the garden~

Every year it is surprising and wonderful, isn't it? The rebirth of dormant living things.
One is inclined to celebrate~

The end of snow (knocking on wood), the return of green leaves and birds! Soon, so soon!
Okay, so this poetry, its not so much about actual poodles as it is about a certain particular little dawg who is snub of snout! Who can it be?? Go see!

weeeeeeeeeee
We have Spring Fever, big time.

The handlebar mojo is blooming and the birdies are chirping! Marcel is jumping in mud puddles- sorry, no photographic evidence, unfortunately- but if you know my little hothouse flower
you know just how uncharacteristic this is! He is happy happy happy to see the parkles, and the people besides me, and the little kids eating candy at the bus stop- which he tried to scam some of but those kids are no dummies!- and plus a muddy paw beats a Salty Paw any day of the week. Believe it. And then we can play that favorite of all new games- the Growl for the Towel, when we come in. Rowr.
Ahem. So.
I took my bike out for the first time since like November. Its sad but true, I was a Bike Winter wuss this year! Oh, but its just like riding a bike, isn't it? My pony has spankin' new tires courtesy of Mr. Goddamn Sunshine, as well as shiny new grips- ribbed for her pleasure- and it was a pleasure!

To put on one's helmet and fly once again, after trudging through snow! The bank clock said 36 degrees but it may as well have been 56, because it felt balmy and soon I was sweating and taking off layers.

That is the beauty of Bike Winter. Or spring, as the case may be.
In any event, the urge to frolic is building. Can you feel it??
Some knitting stuff-
I've been working on the cable part for the Avast cardigan I am making for Mr. Goddamn Sunshine. (I've said it before and I'll say it again, Sweater Curse be damned) Its coming along- here it is in its splendor~

Thus far its just very very l o n g but this part goes around the waist. The cable pattern is pretty simple, which is nice because I've never used cables before. Its simple, but pretty, no?

Once I heard someone say that making cables was just like braiding hair, which it kind of is, except with three sticks instead of two hands.

Pretty pretty pretty.

stick a fork in it
Because the pea-green pullover is finally done!

After much trepidation over buttonholes and patch pocket grafting-

And plus, the buttons should lay flat when its being worn, I was just showing them off.

Its all blocked and on its way to Joey Helpy-Chalk, who may just have a couple of cold days left this year so he can wear it. If its not too big, or too small, which, you never know with these shorties, because its subject to change without warning! Although I have been reassured that Joey is big, but not that big, small, but not that small! But still small!
So it should be fine.
