stop the presses!
Cause all you really need is some ink, linoleum, a wooden spoon and a dream. This is how I spent my Sunday, all day, cutting and printing this picture. Which was meant to be cute and cuddly and somehow transmogrified to ever-so-slightly creepy, which is why I have named it Lil' Devil.

(the color is more correct in the top picture, just fyi)

He also appears to be some sort of relation to Phillipe et Claude, if you remember those guys. Perhaps their offspring? Hey, it isn't real, its just pretend. So two creatures with traditionally male names (but, as Bert is wont to point out, who are lacking in, as he puts it, politely, "parts") they can have offspring. In pretend land. Right?
I'm pretty sure they can.
Anyway, this one is my favorite of all-

(Maybe I will just call this one Fetal Claude?)
And of course there is always the family resemblance to someone else-
lest he should be left out!

Oh, how incredibly bored he was on Sunday. Poor guy. His life is sad.
(don't believe it!)
And plus, the other torments a small dawg has got to endure! Today I took him to the park and then to The Grind, where I tied him to a chair (see what I mean? Well I can't bring him inside!) while I ran in and got us coffee and a croissant for Marcel, which he sniffed briefly and then rejected. Oh well, more for me! So we had some quality lap time, Marcel became covered with croissant crumbs, a fact to which he was utterly oblivious, and went on with our walk.
Near the library a man petted him and asked his name. When I told him Marcel he asked if that was for that mime guy. No!!! Il est Marcel Duchamp!! The artist, you know? He didn't know, but informed me his favorite artist was Monet. "Monet!" I said "Really?"
Yes, he said, because Monet's paintings were so good, they were like photographs. I asked politely did he know the Art Institute had some of Monet's works in their collection. He said no, really?
I said, Yes!
And then he said he would look up Marcel Duchamp in the library.
I said if you like Monet, then you will really like Duchamp.
Its true!!! Isn't it??

I think that the new work is fabuloso. But I don't htink that if you like Monet you will like Duchamp! Down with impressionist propaganda! Long live the surreal of the real!! Really!!
