One skeiny Tuscany socks + Found Art Friday
For a couple of days there the weather wasn't total crap!
Marcel went for real walks, in fact we walked him to the fave new coffee swilling spot which is far, in little dawg miles. This is him in the doorway of the cafe, pining for Oso and waiting for his treat, as his custom-

We three sat in the park in the sunshine, Marcel taking his place on my lap as usual and sharing my croissant. We weren't even cold. How crazy is it??
Later Oso took this photo in the backyard-

The beer came from a leisurely walk to Trader Joe's, which is just past Knit 1. We had gone on a quest for more sock yarn, as I finished the Tuscany socks with one skein and a little to spare. Here they are in their splendor, kind of-

although its hard to do the color much justice. Also one of the socks has a solid bright blue heel, because I was afraid I would run out of the Tuscany. As it turned out, I had enough left over and probably would have been fine. But the heel makes it odd and we like odd. Because if you can't knit odd things then what is the point anyway?

That's the thing.
Anyway I've started a new pair, although am questioning the logic of knitting wool socks just in time for warm weather, but I can't seem to stop myself. This pair are going to be the limest of lime greens because I couldn't resist it-

I am attempting an improvised fern lace pattern and even made a little book of steps where you flip the page for each row so you don't get confused. Here's how you do it- xerox the pattern, cut the lines apart, glue each one on a notecard, punch a hole in the corner of each one, put it on a round thingie- I used a round paper clip and cut out the middle. Oh, its hard to explain but I think you get the idea. Index cards, man. It keeps you sane.
And speaking of office supplies. The thing I used to do when I worked in an office was make good use of post-it notes, ballpoint pens, and white-out. On Thursday I was working on Duchamp! the zine (remember that? Yes, its the long-awaited 2nd issue- Spring 2005! Sad, I know. The 3rd issue, on the theme of Decay and Urban Wildlife, will hopefully follow in a couple of years. Omg. Anyway.) and somehow ferreting in some old sketchbooks when I ran across these-
for your viewing pleasure-

These were from when Marcel was a puppy and thus his head appeared much larger on his skinny little body.
And this from my sketchbook from a long time ago-

Just thought I'd share.
Maybe a more inspired post someday.
