Baby knittin + a happy dogue

Ok, so I started this log cabin blankie also known as Moderne from Mason and Dixon Knitting.

Who knew that garter stitch could be so fun??

Apparently some people have not had a happy time with this pattern but for me, so far, so good. We'll see.
The beauty part is you can zone out and not even pay any attention to what you're doing, you can read subtitles even, if you happen to be watching a film, or you can watch the little tornado and flood warnings on the tv and your hands can just keep going. And the result is quite pleasing. I think.
Anyway.

Marcel has been bored to tears but we did go to the park today and I did torment him with the camera, which he hates.

After a while he was done indulging me.

Oh, and this bloomed in our front yard-

It smells nice, kind of like Marcel, who would like to point out that he had a bath last week and is petunia-fresh. He also knows that that is a peony. He peed on it. Ha.

The problems with the pattern come at the end when you are picking up for the last block, which is intarsia'd to look like 2 blocks. The stitch count for how many you pick up is wrong in the pattern--just pick up one stitch per ridge or stitch as you will have been doing for AGES by then, and also put the marker at the halfway point (again, paying no attention to the numbers in the pattern).
Let the illustration be your guide and all will be fine.

So sorry for the error!
